My husband doesn't like to talk about the time he served in the National Guard. He has bad PTSD. Last night was the first time we told our kids about him serving and getting shot. He was reserved about telling them. He started to say no when our son asked if he got hurt, but I looked at my husband and sternly said "YES, he did get hurt but he's ok now". I told my husband he should be proud. That he should give our sons the opportunity to be proud of what he's been through.
