I use soft rattles and one of those baby gyms with toys they can bat at. I also like to have a bouncy chair. When they get old enough they can bounce themselves in it but until then it's a good way for them to see mom while you're busy doing stuff. My LO just got into a childball. She loves to kick it to make it make noise and now she pushes it a little when she's sitting.

Get gripe water. I swear by it. Helps with gas, fussiness, collic, restlessness. Teething toys, rock n play. Toys that dangle above them.

Hylands calming tabs. Wal-Mart pharmacy area or Walgreens baby area.
