Need some help from my experienced breastfeeding moms: my son is 10 months so everything has been fine but past couple days one side just kills! I'm thinking maybe because he bit me on that side a few days ago but I'm also worried about thrush because the pain symptoms I feel sound like it? But idk. How do you tell if it's thrush or just nipple trauma??
My daughter really bit me bad one time n I felt pain for a week in my breast n my nipple still isn't the same n I get faint ghost pains in it...she's 4 now lol
@lelepatts as much as it hurts, nurse more often on that side. Happened to me and went away quick. But do get checked if you think it's thrush.
@varubio925 it was back in the breast at first but now it's mainly nipple. When it was really bad I thought maybe that was it and that night I checked nipple in shower & scrubbed it a little just to loosen up any grown over skin just in case. The next day I think is when it was no longer stinging in breast but only nipple. And pain no longer lasted as long too. So could that have been it? Still hurts bad when he starts though
Is it just the nipple that hurts? Or the breast? Ever think of clogged milk duck?
@cubanese what can I do as precautions until I can get checked out? Should I only pump that side and nurse on other side that doesn't hurt or what can I do to prevent spread to him and other side if it is thrush?
@cajunpeach89 he's sleeping now and won't let me get all up in there lol but looking at pics online I wouldve noticed it so don't think he has it at least
@dedicatedtosavinglives ok I'm hoping it's just that. It just kills so bad! Like I'm being cut up from the inside! But doesn't last as long as it did just yesterday and day before
@cubanese don't think i really have any itching and he seems fine while nursing. It started as shooting pain from nipple going deep while he would nurse but now it's only nipple area first few seconds of nursing then I can relax a little. The other side is absolutely fine.
It can be on the tounge, roof of the mouth, inside of the cheeks and lips. You can Google thrush mouth and look at pictures to know what you're looking for.
Check his mouth for thrush. If he doesn't have it you shouldn't either as far as I know.
@bonbonmomma 😂😂
