Question....my mom's car got repossessed over 1,000 left on the car. Prior to it getting taken, she believes the transmission went out and never got a chance to get it looked at to see if that what was really wrong with her car. The dealership wants her to pay $529 to get the car out of repossession but she doesn't know if she wants to get it out and possibly end up paying a couple more thousand to fix all that's wrong with the car specially if her transmission is what's wrong or just get a new car during income tax....She's had the car for 5 years and invested over 17,000 in the car but she really can't afford to make any more payments or come out of pocket for the repairs. I have no clue what to advise her to do 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

Transmission repair is $2000. I did it once. Not worth it. But she'll ruin her credit rating if she doesn't get it out of repo.

I have worked at car dealerships for YEARS. If she can afford a payment but doesn't want to continue the payment on that car, I say she pay the $529 and then trade the car in they will include what she owes on a new car.

I see. She could of still did payments on a brand new car lol. Sucks that they repo'd it cuz now that's on her credit even if she gets it out.

@ilovemy2daughters if they repo'd it and she pays what she is supposed to to get it back, she can still trade it in. And it doesn't show up on your credit.
