Did anyone's kids go to speech therapy? I'm going to be sending my boy soon. But I was just curious…

My son gets speech therapy at home. They come 2x a month & they basically just play with them while getting them to say new words or teaching them correctly. They will bring activities to do with him. He loves it.

@jhndms, okay! This one that his doctor was talking about is going to be at their office (I'm assuming a big play room). But I'm sure they'll do the same, just play and see what he needs to know. Thanks!

Both my son's get it. They go the their office and my 2 year old plays and the teacher says words trying to get him to copy. My 6 year old is now learning sounds AMD how to put word together. He has apraxia

My daughter has speech therapy and still does she's about to be in kindergarten. They can go to your house for the speech therapy

@ipuente16, yes, unfortunately my boy says about 20 words. He puts a few together to make sentences. But his doctor said at 2 they should know about 50 words 😬😪😳

Its where part of his brain didn't development and his words don't come out right. He will replete and or I to buy time to get the right word out

@ipuente16, yeah, same here, my son listens and understands what I'm saying (for example if I say "go throw this trash away" or "go get your shoes" he will do it). But his doc said that's actually really good because she said that is the more difficult part is getting the child to understand you. So hopefully it will be easy going when it comes to speech.

@nessairieray, what is the companies name you use for the therapy? His doctor said the one that he will be sent to is only up to age 3. So HOPEFULLY in 6 months he will be back on track where he's supposed to be. But if not I was curious what your daughter goes to so I can have a back up place.

@ipuente16, exactly! And sometimes the poor kid gets so frustrated because I can't understand him! 🙃😩 Hopefully the therapy helps. 🤞🏻

Both of my sons attend speech therapy every other week it's very helpful since they aren't as verbal as children their age
