My kids were home with me when I was in labor and even with it being a home birth it was still hectic. You really need a designated person to help with kids... but having them there to see their sibling born was the best feeling ever. Granted they cant really appreciate it until they're older but it was still special

I have had my first born there with me when I gave birth to my second child I had my birth plan all ready for them and they was ok with him being there as long as someone was able to keep him out of the way lol but over all I think it's up to how you want your birth plan to go
