Just a week late but this little girl is 6 months old already. I cannot believe it! Feels like just yesterday I found out i was pregnant. She is growing up so fast. She weighs 14 lbs 8 oz and is 27.5 in long. She loves saying dada (mommy wasn't happy when she said it first), she is almost crawling, she sits up by herself with no support, and we are starting her on doing BLW.

"Dada" is usually every baby's first word. Even in other cultures, baby's will say their version of "dada" before "mama". It's inherent and entirely developmentally appropriate. Women used to teach their babies to say "dada" first as a form of protection to the child. Basically, "Look! It said your name! Don't kill it!" bc in those eras before us (especially native nomadic cultures), having children made it harder to move from place to place.
