I think it decreases your supply just enough to where your not so full and engorged. I had to tell my friend not to do this as shes a FTM and thought it was something she would be able to do😣 @liz41395 but honestly if anyone wants to not be engorged and in pain, you have to FEED to get the milk out, pump, hand express whatever you have to do. I had to do that while i was breastfeeding to keep my supply but not be in pain!
@liz41395, I feel u I gave up early with both my older kids I'm really trying to push thru this time even with mastitis this week and last week everyone told me he wasn't gaining weight and needed to be supplemented I just started supplementing myself more instead and hunkered down all weekend skin to skin and just fed him all weekend and slowly each roadblock has been conquered
@megsandbabes i was told to stop by the on call dr in the er at the hospital i had my son at because his jaundice level was at 18.0 they told me to give him formula until his dr appointment 3 days later so thats what i did and i tried to breastfeed also while giving him formula but i was exclusively breastfeeding not even using bottles so he didn't want anything to do with me after that he would try and he would get frustrated and give up and then my milk wasn't even enough for him anymore
@noahs.mommy, that's so sad! I'm sorry! Was that right when he was born? I've always wondered about jaundice, I know it makes you very sick but is the baby in pain? How did formula help with jaundice?

NO! The cabbage leaves will dry up your supply! I'm so sorry. Idk who started putting this out, but it's not a good idea!

I see it all over the place though. It looks so honest. I'd ask a breastfeeding consultant before trying anything like this.

@noahs.mommy, yeah. I've also heard hot showers/hand expressing helps. I wish I could have done it longer!
