My 15 year old Genesis. You would never think to know she was diagnosed with Autism at 4 years old. I was a behavioral specialist for many years working with teens with disabilities. Because of my job and my training, I'd push her out instead of sheltering her. Id have her play with mainstream kids (to learn social cues), and encouraged her areas of interest which was singing. Instead of singing just at home, she has been in several talent shows. My husband and I try to put her in social situations to teach her to be more independent. She pays for and orders her own food. And I'm just so proud of the beautiful woman she's become! I'm super excited because she will be starting her first job this summer at a country club. She didn't start talking until she was 7. And now she sings and talks like other teen girls. It was rocky at times but she never gave up. She went to her first dance this past year. With early intervention she was able to progress and build her confidence. I'm just so happy to see her happy! I always share pictures of my babies, but I also wanted to share a picture of my big baby girl! Because she is just awesome! ❤😍😊
