Maybe erase the amazon app from his tablet

Delete your payment info from amazon or as PP said, delete the app. I know some tablets have kids mode too.

I let my kiddo watch Mickey on a Kindle fire. I'm not sure about a kid mode so to say but you can set a time of how long it can be in use. Also in the parental control settings you can set a password so nothing can be purchased unless that password is entered in.
