Does anyone have the car seat Safety first grow and go? We can not install it tightly for the life…

Have you tried getting in the car and pushing the car seat into the seat with your hips as you pull the latch or seat belt tight?

I have it but have the same problem of I can't get it tight enough. I just figured because it is so big and then the reclining part.

I haven't. We pushed down on the top and pulled. Pushed down on the seat seat. Tried all different angles to get it tight and we couldn't get it. @santistevanmommie,

I'd try getting in the car behind it and using your hips to push it in and tighten the strap. That's what I have to do with our seats to get them installed tightly. If that doesn't work then I'd take it back as I have heard of some having a difficult time getting it tightened on this seat

I don't have it reclined and we tried getting it reclined too and nothing. I mean I struggled with it Sunday couldn't get it and then I figured my ex if anyone would be able to get it and he legit for an hour fought this seat and lost lol so i don't really know what to do? It's unsafe for my son to ride in it that loose. My ex got it so it only moved a little but it was still so wobbly :/ @mommywifelifestyle,

The graco extend2fit is a good one or the graco 4ever. I have both of those and love them! They have really awesome padding ease of install and last awhile.

Yeah my ex was like oh this will be a great forward facing seat. But my son is only 8 months old. He needs to be rear facing till he's 40lbs and right now he's only like 22ish lbs@mommywifelifestyle,

It's a law here to rear face till a year but my son is 18 months and 32lbs

My only thing is is that I bought it online and have no receipt. I bought it from babies are us so I'd have to exchange it unless they can take my bank statement as proof. That whole thing is going to be a pain too.@santistevanmommie,

Yes@mommywifelifestyle, a year here also. In the manual for this seat it saids 40lbs until you can forward face. I hate that this seat is so difficult. I'm going to try it again tomorrow and see if I can somehow finagle it. Otherwise I'm going to have to get another one. My infant carriers weight limit is 35lbs so I'm going to have to have another seat for him after that that can rear face.

I have another one also but that one supposed to go into my husband's truck if he will ever put it in but I'm going try get mine in better or take it to a sheriffs to help

Yeah I could go to the fire station too. But honestly if my ex couldn't get it, I highly doubt these people will either. I just watched a video on how to install it. I'm going to fuss with it tomorrow and maybe I can get a good angle to make it tight.@mommywifelifestyle,

I have this same problem. Mine isn't so loose it isn't safe but I can't get it completely right to where no movement happens so I just have my passenger seat pushed into it enough so it's snugger. It hasn't ever gave me any problems since I did that.

@missjess, @caysonsmommy16, the seat back of the car can't brace the car seat. They shouldn't be touching. In the event of an accident it would keep the car seat from cocooning around baby as it should.

Also ladies you should only check for movement at the belt path, which is under the baby's feet.

@santistevanmommie, I tested mine multiple times and multiple ways to make sure it will still go up the way it is supposed to and it does. It is not completely bracing the car seat. It is only touching it enough to keep it snug from rocking side to side. I understand it probably isn't supposed to touch but hey, it's keeping my baby safe until I can afford another one. Lol

@caysonsmommy16, the seat would fail though. It's still considered a bad install. If you have FB you should look up the car seat safety group. They have certified techs that can help you.

@missjess, yeah like I said mine isn't crazy loose but it moves a little more than I like. Now my passenger seat isn't bracing the car seat it still moves up and down without any restraint. So just test it out before you put your baby in it to make sure it still serves its purpose.
