I would not recommend it. I didn't even have it for a year. It releases progesterone but it doesn't release estrogen which plays hell on hormones. I also had two cysts that had grown back to back within two months ( 5.3 cm and 5.6 cm) I had to have emergency surgery and they both had to be removed. I never had these problems before the nexplanon. I also bled for 53+ days straight. When I got the nexplanon removed and got back on the pill everything evened out. It's different for everyone but I definitely definitely would not recommend it .
I got mine taken out because it gave me extreme mood swings... yelling, throwing things, banging my head. Made me depressed. Started effecting my relationship and my parenting. Would not recommend just because it seems so common to have the same reaction I did
I've had it since January and it works wonders. I haven't had a period, mood swings, weight gain. Very very light spotting (only once) for about 3 days within these past 6/7 months.

I love it! I bled for a while in the beginning but now I barely have periods. It hasn't caused me any problems! 😁
