Ok Mama's question... When did you start giving your baby cereal in their bottles?
And they won't walk to our house because they aren't allowed to smoke in our home
@beebaby
I've tried that but she lives in the next house. Our houses are literally right next to each other. She is already mad at me because I don't bring the baby over to her. But I don't like to because she smokes in her house. It's bad enough my other three go over to visit and when they come home I have to give them a shower right away. She and her husband said it's their house and they will do what they want. Which I understand it is their house but I just wish they wouldn't smoke while the grandbabies are visiting. Ugh!!! So frustrating!!!

Thank you mamas for all you advice!!! My other three kids, my mother in law took over and fed them cereal behind my back without asking, so I'm putting my foot down with baby kaidyn and I'm doing things the way I want to. So I wasn't sure if I had to start cereal or not. He is doing good on formula.
I'm feeding my 5 Month old cereal twice a day but not in his bottle, I spoon feed him. He needs to gain weight so his pedi suggested the rice cereal and he loves it!
Rice in a bottle is a choking hazard. My parents started Isabelle on it around 3mos behind my back. Honestly, after 6 months you could probably spoon feed it to them, but I would do oatmeal instead. Rice cereal really doesn't have much nutritional value (it doesn't make them sleep through the night, either, despite what everyone else tells you).
Only reflux babies get it in bottle. Other babies get spoon fed cereal between 4 to 6 months.
I started at about 2 weeks cuz she had really bad acid reflux and she would never get full. It helped a lot!
I did at 4 months. My daughter was eating every hour and a half so I had to do something
My fil smokes. My kids are 6 and 3 and never been in his home. My mother in law smoked and the kids haven't been on her in 3 years and finally one day she stopped and now the visit. Smoke is not good for a child of any age, even second hand. It also cause them to be sick more often with ear infections and cold because there immune system is compromised. I am the protector of my children. Regardless of if it is my mom, if she is a smoker then my kids will not see you. Your choice. And my MIL changed to accomodate my rule, my fil hasn't so he doesn't see his grandkids but in a picture and that is his choice. I don't feel bad because my kids are safe
