Can I just say that there are so many definitions of what is a mother, what we consider a mother, how we strive to be a mother, not every woman is able to be a mother nor wants to....

But that resilience, in spite of chaos and obstacles, to overcome mountains of pain and strife, to accomplish our goals so that our witnesses, our children, can see us at least try to do things, so that we are examples of how a good being should be, so that we never give up on ourselves or on them.

My own mother has said many times she's given up on me and my brother, she doesn't call or text, not on this day either. She is a selfish person, and just because she gave birth to me doesn't mean she wanted me. However, I use this experience, as I always have, to realize what NOT to do or say now that I am a mother....

May this Mother's Day be a special time to reflect on how talented you are as a mother and cherish the gift of your children as they look up to you, whether you feel like they do or not.
