Mothers day is always tough for me. Right now everyone on my Facebook is sharing pics of their moms, and me? Well...I don't really have one.
This is the only photo I have of my mother and I. I was 5 here. She abandoned us when I was 11. She eventually took custody of my brother for a few months, but she didn't want me. She eventually moved across the country and I haven't seen her since I was about 14. I haven't talked to her in almost 2 years: when I told her I was pregnant, she said she was sad for me.
I have my step mom, and I'm thankful for her. However, it's not the same considering I was 16 when my parents got together, and our relationship has been very rocky.
In a way, I'm thankful for the situatuon with my mother bc it gives me an example of the kind of mother I do NOT want to be like, and I strive to be the complete opposite of her everyday. For Isabelle, I want to be the kind of mother I wish I'd had: one that was loving, supportive, and involved. I want to give her the childhood I wish I could've had.
Happy mother's day, mom. Dunno where you are or what you're doing, but your daughter and your granddaughter are doing just fine without you.

I'm sad for your mother. She chooses to not know how amazing you and Isabelle are! Don't ever let her issues define who you are or what your worth. Just because a woman is a mother doesn't mean she is a good one. I always TRY to focus on the positive. Truth is you gals would probably have more problems if she was apart of your life.
I don't have a healthy relationship with my mother either, so I know that it still hurts no matter what. 💓 I hope you have a Mother's Day filled with love.
