I love my husband to death, but sometimes he just doesn't get it when it comes to why I make certain decisions for our children. The baby is almost 10 months, and a few months back, the doctor told us that we could start substituting her formula to whole milk because she was the type of baby that absolutely would not eat baby foods because of the texture. She also does not like anyone feeding her. She likes to be Miss Independent. Well, shortly after starting the whole milk, she started getting constipated. After a couple of weeks, my husband advised me to maybe try mixing the whole milk to the 2%. I tried that for several weeks also, and the poor girl would scream bloody murder and bleed from pushing so hard. So, I decided to start weaning her back towards the formula, which is Soy because she would projectile vomit with any other kind of formula. Even with the mixing, she was still constipated more than usual, so I decided to finally put her back on straight formula, and she's been doing great. For some reason, he doesn't like her being on soy, and doesn't think the milk had anything to do with anything. Says she can't be lactose intolerant because she's never had a reaction from ice cream or other things. Grrr! 😡😡😡😡😡😡

@jessicarose0602, soy milk is the only thing that hasn't made her constipated or given her diarrhea and vomiting. She tried pretty much everything out there and we had to resort back to the soy.

My daughters pediatrician actually told me one time that soy milk can make constipation worse!! Wasn't sure if you knew that or not. I had to change my daughters formula to similac alimentum and we've had no issues since. But I'm having to start switching my daughter over to whole milk shortly. Her doctor gave us the okay.

My daughter could not handle milk until she was almost 18 months... we moved her to almond milk, she could still eat yogurt, cheese and ice cream... but just having straight milk did REALLY bad things to her! Maybe give unsweetened vanilla almond milk a try!

My son is on soy milk and he was on soy milk but it could be just the timing too because sometimes tummies just aren't ready till 12 months I'd try it again if same results then just do the soy milk or almond milk
