Ok mommies, I need big help! So yesterday was first day home for baby. He was fine for a couple of hours and then became really fussy all night and morning. I am breastfeeding and producing but it's not enough. I tried similac formula this morning and he drank it right up and went to sleep and is still sleeping that's how I know my supply is low and he is not eating enough. How do I begin to produce more milk because I want to switch him back to the breast?
@cubanese, one last question I think lol sorry for all of these questions but you're a consultant and I need to know since I'm new at being a mommy and breastfeeding. I came home and boobs were leaking (yayy) I immediately tried to put him on he rejected I guess he was still full from bottle an hour later he woke and I latched him, now my boobs are very hot as if they were running a fever if that makes since. Is that normal
@cubanese, such an interesting read I had to share it on my Facebook as I'm sitting in the doctors office checking on baby and if he's getting enough since he cried all night and morning and refused breast. 🤔how ironic lol
@scurlock.mommy, @cubanese, thank you guys so much I'm going to keep trying. It was just a test to see why he was crying so much and didn't want to latch at times. I think he was getting frustrated with me. He only had one formula bottle as a tester like stated before. Doctor said keep going back and forth between the two so he won't be underfed and so he can still get supply from breast until it is able to produce 2-3 ounces on it's own. She also told me try the breast pump to help produce quicker. What do you guys say about that?
@cubanese, anything else you could add about This?
You'll need to keep breastfeeding him. The more he feeds, the more you'll produce. He may not have been fussy just bc you aren't producing enough: after day 2, newborns just get fussy. They finally realize they aren't in mommy's belly anymore, and it's kind of like a culture shock. My nurse gave me a whole book about it.
He'll probably need to feed more if you breastfeed. Not bc of your supply, but bc breastmilk is digested faster than formula. Formula fed newborns can go 2-3 hours between feeding, where breastfed newborns have to eat every hour or two. It's completely normal.
Are you still eating dairy? If so, then his fussiness may be from that and not the amount of your supply. A newborns stomach is teeny tiny, so they don't need much at all! It also sometimes takes a while for your milk to come in fully (it took me two days but it took my friend a week). But your colostrum is so important for babies to get! Just keep at it, momma.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
