I was talking to someone on FB and said I had a birth with no pain meds, and someone I knew chimed in with, "But you had an epidural!"
🙄🙄 No, I didn't. They *attempted* an epidural. The woman redid it 4 times, but my scoliosis is so bad that she couldn't find the right spot. They took it out after 20 minutes of me not feeling anything other than intense back pain ALONG WITH bc it wasn't in right.
Pain meds that don't ever get distributed don't really count, now do they? 😒 Seriously though, feeling the entire birth wasn't even half as painful as her trying to do that epidural 4 times. Cringe.

@dashtikalin girl yes, I couldn't even look at it lmao 😩 and I had a messed up back for MONTHS after. Wasn't even worth the attempts tbh.

I'm terrified of the epidural also... I know too many women who had bad experiences! So I read every scrap of information I could find on 'alternative' pain management! 😅 I swear that had to suck so bad😣... someone sticking you in the back while you have a child trying to burrow its way out of your vagina! 😳 you my dear, are a super mom! 😘

@theinkedmommy dude, my anesthesiologist was just a complete dumbass. She knew it was in wrong but she kept it in anyway and left. 😑 after a few minutes I was having EXCRUTIATING pain and the nurse had to remove it. The drugs weren't even going through it, there was blood all over the place. Had they done it right, I'm sure it would've been amazing! But that's just my luck lmao 😂

My father in law is an anesthetist and says even with severe scoliosis an epidural shouldn't be that hard to place. 🙄 Sounds like they would rather blame your condition than admit they were incompetent. (Unfortunately a lot of anesthetists are according to FIL. Modern medicine has made them lazy. 😩)

@rhealize she was totally stupid tbh. I even told her beforehand and she said it wouldn't be an issue. Halfway through doing it the first time, she was like "You didn't tell me you had scoliosis, so now I have to redo it." 🙄🙄 I was just like "I told you literally 3 minutes ago, but go on." 😂😂

How awful! I would have requested a different anesthetist right then 😂 been like "get me someone who actually knows their job please?" You should have sued. Or threatened too because actually suing is a hassle bahaha

I had my first two natural, and my last two with an epidural. I definitely prefer the epidural, but they did miss with my last one and hit a nerve. I started shivering like I was having a seizure, my blood pressure dropped more than usual, and my heart rate was sky high. They had to hurry up and redo it before my body's reaction to everything started to effect the baby.
