My 10 month old girl has had mild exzema for some time. Which i have to put eumovate ointment on her body for it to go away. But recently when i change her she has started to reach down and tried to scratch the outside of her private parts. Any ideas why??? There is no sign of redness or irritation on there except when she scratches too hard and i have to stop her!!! Please help x

My son's started this at every single nappy change. Makes it so hard! He also has eczema and I don't blame him for needing a good itch after having all his bits trapped in a nappy. I just asked for doublebase from the docs because I know it's a nice cooling gel and I apply that for him.

Its just wierd that she only starts scratching a couple of days ago. And there is no sign of redness or irritation. I know i will book an appointment its just 7pm here in London and i have to wait untill tomorrow now! Lol

@jessievans250, take her to the doctors if you're really concerned! Usually there'd be a little redness or something with an infection.

Iv read online that babies with the same problem may have a yeast infection? A childrens centre worker also gave me a thrush cream to use when she once had nappy rash. But this dissapeared with Metanium nappy rash cream. Should i maybe use it incase its thrush or is it yeast??? Im asking but there is no more sign of the nappy rash\rash that was there...

My son itches when I take his nappy off. It gets hot and sweaty when their skin is covered for that long. The weather is warmer now, so even worse. If there's no signs of irritation it's probably just itchy sweaty skin. Try airing her out a little during a change, keep the nappy off for a bit to see if it helps her. My son is exactly the same though, he's just itchy x
