Why does my ex still insist on asking me how the baby is first thing when he will be seeing him this…

Might be weird to you now, but count your blessings. At least he wants to be involved in his son's life. I can't even get any kind of message from mine for the past 8 years to see how his son is doing. My son is now 20 and just graduated basic training. That's a moment in your life when your dad should have been there for you, but this idiot is the perfect image of a deadbeat sperm donor. And now, my daughter is going through a situation to where her and her dad had a huge blow up because he's never really been there for her much. It's always been his parents stepping up to his plate for him. Now, she's totally given up on him and wants no relationship with him. Just a little advice: Always try your hardest to be civil around the child. Don't ever talk negative about your ex to your son. And, just be encouraging when he wants to be a part of his sons life. Believe me, I wish either of them would have done what your ex did, in a heartbeat.

I'm always civil around my child. And I'd never talk badly about his dad to him. But his dad really has barely anything to do with him. He copy and pastes the same message to me every single day. It's not genuine and he never really asks what's going on or what's new that he's doing. And even when I use to be nice and tell him stuff he acted like he could care a less. He hasn't been a good father to him at all and I give him every opportunity. I've even encouraged time with him and all but he's just a jerk about it. @garber1979,

@missjess, Do you think he's only doing it so that he has some kind of excuse to keep in touch with you in hopes that you'll want maybe something sexual from him? That sounds more like my daughters father. He thinks he's Gods gift to women! 🤢

Idk honestly. We had like a fling type thing back in February. Then shit hit the fan cause I went and petitioned for child support and then he went for child custody. I think he does it to look good on paper. @garber1979,

@missjess, sounds like my husbands ex. She'll do anything to try and make herself look good in court, including constantly calling child services on him over false accusations. Her issue is that she doesn't want him in their children's lives, even though he wants to see them as much as he possibly can, and takes better care of them than she does. We've tried filing for custody of his children before, even with the police report against her for child endangerment, but the judge said it didn't rise to the level of abuse and sent them back home to their mother. The most your ex will get is shared custody while you get primary custody, because no judge will remove a child from their mother unless there's been severe physical abuse to where the child has been physically damaged.

Omg. My baby father does this too. And he asks to see a picture EVERY day even though he will see her in a few hours. SO obnoxious.

Right I agree! @garber1979, and it's annoying as hell @mandaaleexo, like atleast my ex doesn't ask for pics but he sends the same exact message every day at like 5am... We aren't even awake then! At least ask when the day is half over. 🙄

@missjess, yep mine asks for a pic AND sends the same text every day. So annoying.
