I need some very specific ab workouts for women who have had lower spinal fusions and are struggling to get rid of a postpartum belly. I can't do sit-ups or crunches. It hurts my lower spine too much. There has to be other options.

Try moves where you stand up like "around the world" there are many moves where you take a small weight and move it around you as you are in a squat like position. It kills my abs without even laying down. I have bulging disc and nerve issues in my cervical, thoracic and lower lumbar which makes ab exercises harder to do without swelling and pain. I find standing up or being on my hands and knees (bird dog yoga) helps get the burn I need

Also, if you learn a way to breathe and engage the core while power walking you will get an awesome an exercise

@dhamiphoenix, hmm ok great! I honestly didn't know that there are standing ab workouts. I will definitely research that. Thanks so much!

Yes there are! 😊 anything where you engage the core and bring your knees up with give you a workout too.

If you can do planks than try mountain climbers, even climbing stairs, marching in place works too. As long as you are lifting your knees .
