Ladies what does the strep b test consist of ? Doctor told me today I will be having that at my next appt in two weeks…

The group b is only a swab around an inside your vagina an around the anus they don't go in. An they NST for numerous reasons . Just to check on the baby. My doctor had me doing them in her office every visit from 30 weeks on because that's they're policy nothing was wrong they just do that there

My doctor did the group b test wrong though it hurt like hell like she swabbed my urethra but it shouldn't hurt at all if your doctor does it right

When i deliver my daughter she had a hard time feeding and she had a fever if its positive they give you antibiotics for it because it can so red from mother to baby as long as the treat it you and the baby should be fine

I was positive with strep b when I was pregnant with my son. It is a healthy bacteria found in woman. It can come and go that's why they don't test you for it until you are near the end of your pregnancy. The problem with strep b is, although it is safe for the mother, if passed to the baby problems can arise as serious as meningitis. If you test positive they will pump you with penicillin during your labor and delivery. My son also had to stay an extra 48 hours in the hospital to be observed, but I think that's because I was given a less effective antibiotic because I am allergic to penicillin.

Now with NSTs. I had 3 or 4, but that was because my blood pressure was high the last month and a half of my pregnancy. My doctor will also start doing them as soon as you are 40 weeks and any week you go beyond.

Yeah I was positive too ! I had 4 bags on antibiotics during labor @mommieof2babies, an yeah I was scared she was gonna stick it in my butt@nani720,

@aliakr yes i was on antibiotics too during labor its crazy how i was positive for my daughter but negative for my son

Did it burn for you !? My arm was so sore from it I hated it @mommieof2babies,
