I am exactly 39 weeks and 4 days today and being induced tomorrow at 6PM. Although this is my second baby I am in need of breastfeeding tips. Can I start juicing right away or should I wait a few days after delivery? #momlifechats @savvyeveryday
I haven't had a C-Section so I'm not an expert when it comes to c-section and breastfeeding, but I would def try putting baby to breast as soon as you can. The more skin to skin the better. Leave the vernix on baby bc that will help him/her find the nipple if they smell it on you from you holding them. Look up the breast crawl online too and try it if you'd like! It's amazing to watch (newborns crawl from the chest to breast -takes about 30 mins). Another thing I recommend is leaning back and letting baby find a natural match versus the upright seated latch the hospital will show you. Not only bc upright might not work for you after c-section but babies can latch better if you're leaned back. I hope that helps! Not all RNs & DRs know much about breastfeeding and even some lactation consultants surprise me, but don't be afraid to be stern about your choices to all medical staff and to ask for help if you need it. ❤️ #momlifechats
