A3: Figure out why you want to bog first, what your mission is. I came from a journalism background and the concept of blogging allowed me to create my own parenting website that’s a fusion of the two in that I write posts like a traditional online magazine but with personal anecdotes to back up what I’m saying, but there are a lot of people who run a traditional journal-style blog where the topics can be what they did that day, what songs they heard on the radio that afternoon, some of their favorite things, and whatever else they feel like. If you’re blogging for fun or to update family then your goals are different than if you’re trying to create your own business and reach people so it’s important that you know your purpose ahead of time. It’s also not a source of “freebies” and extra cash. I’ve been working 8 hour days nearly 7 days a week (and all hours because social media doesn’t clock out) for the last 3 years and I’ve only ever come out ahead by $3K at the end of the year. Like any business, it takes a lot of work, hustle and time to grow well. #momlifechats
