So irritated. Back in April, I had to take Faye to Urgent Care for a high fever. During the visit, they checked her temp, and looked in her ears with the ear otoscope. All very routine and basic. The doctor said she thought it was the beginning of an ear infection, and to just watch it and take it easy. Basic meds. She then put a cotton swab in each ear, pulled it out, and said, "yeah..it's not bad. Possibly going to be an ear infection, but you caught it super early if so." And we went on our way. Well, I just got the bill for it - I knew it would be at least $250.00 being that it was Urgent Care. Well! As well as the basic visit, they charged an additional $100.00 for "ear wax extraction". !!!!. All she did was stick q-tip in and say it looked "not bad". She didn't "extract" anything. Her ears were just fine! No build up or anything like that. I'm irritated. I know it's only $100.00, and we have a medical budget that covers it all, but I'm still irritated that they even charged that. Id be angry even if they only charged $10.00. It's the matter of the fact! It's like I just payed $100.00 for one dirty cotton swab! 😠
