My fiancé is not a cat person. It's really hard having him do the litter box for me when he has never owned cats and all he does is complain about doing it. Anyone else have this issue? I can hardly get him to do it every day like he's supposed to.

My husband had his cat before I met him. I will not clean the box or feed the damn animals. 😂 I have an excuse though, I'm super allergic and if I mess with their boxes my airway closes up. Even so, I have the hardest time getting him to clean up after *his own* pets. It's like, "boy, it's bad enough I have to tolerate them on a daily basis, but there will be hell if I can't breathe in my own house." 🙄
I think if he accepted the cats when you got them(or moved in together if they were there first) it's okay to expect him to help out. Especially if you're pregnant and shouldn't be doing it yourself. Maybe you can find ways to make it easier for him though. There are some really nice electric cat boxes on Amazon. If you get one of those he'd only have to mess with it once a week.

@rhealize, yeah we are looking at those now. I get being tired of doing it everyday, I get sick of it too. But my cat is really affectionate and more like a dog than a cat. My cat just wants his attention and he won't even touch the cat. He just gets pissed off about my cats existence pretty much. Neither of us are allergic thankfully. But I'm letting him get a dog when our child is born despite me not being too big on dogs. So I wish he'd compromise or just suck it up. Makes me worry about if he'll help out with our child or if he'll just complain about that too.

Maybe you can get a really tiny, fluffy dog and pretend it's a cat. 😮 Hopefully he doesn't end up making you take care of that too, though 🙄

@rhealize, he hates tiny dogs too 😒 he won't get anything except a pure bred German shepherd

Those are so high maintenance though. 😩 You HAVE to walk them at least one hour every day and keep them busy so they don't get bored and wreck things. If he hates taking care of a cat box there's no way he'd be okay with a smart breed of dog.

@rhealize, he has a shepherd at his parents house back home so he has experience with them. He just hates cats I guess.
