My son has a canker sore on the inside of his bottom lip. He has his first teeth finally coming through (top 2). Could the canker be from teething or biting down on his lip? It wasn't there this morning but was when I picked him up from day care. Not sure if I should be concerned about it 🙈
Omg doctors are hilarious the things they tell people to keep their minds at ease
Oh my god lol he doesn't have a sore in his mouth this post was from 6 months ago. And I didn't say he will never ever have it again but his doctor has told me that it is UNLIKELY he will have hand foot and mouth again and if he does it will LIKELY not be as extreme. I wasn't arguing with you and did not say anywhere that you can't catch anything twice.
I did not say he was a carrier just saying that you can catch it more then once who says you can not catch things twice, there is still a probability, I know it would be a different strain it would have to be different in order to reinfect the same person twice I took 2 years of med school and genetics as well viruses I know this. Now as for the sore in the mouth now there is still a probability, even if it's minor it's still in the equation. But the best bet to keep a kids mouth clean is warm water and salt as well keep the toys clean, even sometimes the cleanest person in the world can get the most dirtiest catches.
You can not tell me that you can not catch anything twice.
Hand foot and mouth is not recurring. He CAN catch it again as there are different but you don't generally get it twice. It's not like he's now a carrier of it lol @restputant
@restputant This was 6 months ago 😂HFM isn't serious anyway he got it at daycare and was fine
@kayla94 well then take care of him very well keep him away from kids and other people due to it can spread, and watch for fevers they may spike from time to time. As well anything he touches, slobber on or puts in mouth, must be washed really well, as well take some soap, water and vinegar to clean any and all surfaces, as well wash his hands as well with soap and water to reduce any kind of spread.
There are numerous ways to get a sore in the mouth, most way for kids are as follows: especially his age.
1) sucking on bottom lips
2) chewing on a single side when eating
3) biting ones lips
4) placing non clean objects in mouth
5) kissing or attempting to show "cute" affection to other kids
6) sharing ones good with another kid
7) other kids fingers get in or near mouth
8) his own fingers from objects/surrounding in mouth
To help reduce try and keep swelling down by dabbing small amount of salt water directly on sore, which yes means sticking your fingers in his mouth this will as well kill germs on and or in sore .
Try and encourage him to eat on the opposite side for a change will reduce amount of pain/irritations
Get him to chew on frozen toys this also reduces swelling.
Or just leave it be and let nature take its course. But watch if it worsens or become infected.
He told me he COULD get it again just like you are saying so why you would say that is beyond me haha
