Trying to find a babysitter for when I go back to work and it'll be 30-45 min. each day. that my daughter would be watched. And people are expecting me to pay $10 a hour. is that normal? I mean she's 5 weeks she sleeps most of the time.
I make minimum wage ($8.50/hr) why should I pay more then I'm making? I might as well stay home. ya know...
I'm not asking for free, But some people's expectations are ridiculous!
I think $5-$7.50 is more then fair for one child.

Depends on which state you are in. People in my state were asking anywhere from $8-12 an hour for one kid! That is why I am a stay at home mom. I am not going to slave away somewhere for minimum wage and really only make a dollar an hour. That's ridiculous

Standard cost in Tampa is $10-15 per hour for 1 child.

Yeah. Daycare would cost much more. Also, watching a baby that small is a very serious job and big responsibility. I day charge what you're worth in my profession. I wouldn't even want somebody to watch my baby if they didn't at least expect $10. I'd feel like they just needed a quick few bucks and wouldn't do the job well. Idk
