This is the most heartbreaking decision I'm going to make... my breastfeeding journey is coming to an end. After 3 months of doing everything possible to up my supply , even weighted feeds my daughter isn't getting anything from me anymore. It's taking time an effort away from raising my daughter an giving her the attention she needs😢 I've tried so hard an I don't know what more to do anymore..... I feel so guilty for not being able to provide her with what she needs. I feel like my body has failed me.

Don't feel bad. You're doing great breastfeeding didn't work out and it is ok. You should not feel guilty... you did for 3 months you should feel proud...

Have you talked to a lactation consultant? @cubanese runs the breastfeeding group here

You should be so proud of your determination to give your baby breastmilk for 3 months! That's awesome mama! I'm sorry things don't seem to be working. Please don't feel bad! She will be okay ok formula. You've done a great job so far mama and you'll continue doing the best for your daughter! Give her extra hugs and kisses!

Yeah I've been crying for weeks cause it's only getting worse :( I drain my self for producing only 2oz of breastmilk a day... I have some in freezer but I try to give her 1 bottle a day I've taken since she's been born to get this much... I've tried so hard seem numerous doctors but nothing's changed..😢@mom.life_usa, @haleybae, @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom, @fitlife,

I actually am starting to think it's because she has a lip tie my supply has been so bad. She can barely drink out of a bottle . But where I live there's no doctors educated on them

I can try giving a couple suggestions but I don't want you to get discouraged if they don't work. Have you tried hand expressing? For some women it's easier to hand express than to pump. There are other things you can troubleshoot with your pump that could help it work better depending on what pump you use, you could see if your local hospital or WIC will let you rent a hospital grade pump. The lip tie issue could mess with your supply if it hinders her ability to nurse, but if you're pumping every 2 1/2-3 hours it should still help your body know to produce milk. Do you massage your breasts while pumping? Do you drink enough water and stay away from caffeine? I pumped for 7 weeks while my little guy was in the nicu.. I'm trying to remember what helped me.

Yeah I asked my doctor about it but she doesn't want to give it to me she told me to just quit like 2 months ago but I've refused. The tea made my supply even worse :( so I've stopped trying any supplements because I learned it's made from blood not what we ingest. Even my daughters pediatrician told me to quit .... I don't have any support around me that's why I love this app so much support on here @haleybae,

Yes I always hand express because I usually always get more than my pump. I've started out with the medela pump in style. An then I just bought the spectra 2 pump. I've recently realized my flange size is way to big I'm using a 24 when I need a 17... I'm still waiting for the flange to come in. I'm going to see if that will help me it's my last shot. I definelty will try to stay away from caffeine it's one of my guilty pleasures. How do you make yourself drink so much water!? I struggle with it @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom,

I have already went through my insurance for the hospital grade pump an they are taking so damn long. It's been 7 weeks already waiting for them to approve it when they do indeed cover it. I'm so irritated with them

Yes I'm realizing it's not the worst thing! I'm happy my baby is growing an being fed no matter what I just wish it was from me... but it's okay@haleybae, I will definitely do that?

I was going to mention making sure the flange were the correct size (I had to get 30's), and if you were using the pump in style still I would suggest changing of those white membranes often. Drinking water often is hard for me, but I don't usually drink a lot of other things. I don't drink soda or milk, and I'm not a big juice person so I usually stick to water, but that doesn't mean I drink a lot of it. You could do flavored water if that helps. Caffeine is still okay- I find it dehydrating though so if you can try drinking whatever your guilty pleasure drink is whole drinking water it might help.

Ok this tip might seem strange but it helped. My mother in law told me to imagine the milk flowing out while I expressed milk. 😂I also massaged my breasts and that helped.

Yes I finally measured myself lol. So maybe it will help. Im gonna try imaging that too! I know it is a lot about mental to get your let down going lol I hated my medela it hurt so much an didn't stimulate me at all. Ugh I love coffee so much but I try to drink lot of water I can't stand milk or juice either lol @kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom,

I had to press the letdown button a few extra times in pumping sessions with the medela. If you are somehow able to rent a medela symphony pump (through a hospital for example) it could make a huge difference. They're the hospital grade ones I used while my son was in the nicu. Totally kick ass. Lol. Spectra are hospital grade too I think- I've never used one though.

Please don't let this tear you down. I went through something similar when my son was born. My milk never arrived. I felt defective. Every time I gave him a bottle I cried. But I started focusing on how happy he was to be fed. And I bottle fed him skin to skin. And even though it still hurts to know I couldn't do the primal natural thing a woman is supposed to be able to do, I realized that it was more important that he was growing and happy.

Awwww thank you so much.. I know exactly how you feel that really made me feel reassured that it's okay. All that matters is that she's growing an happy. Strangely though she hasn't gained any weight in a month @mrsgraffiti,
