When we found out I was pregnant I told my boyfriend that he needs to stop smoking weed and grow up. Job opportunities were passing by him because he couldn't test clean, we were wasting over $200 a month on it, he had to be ready 20 minutes before we could leave because he HAD to smoke EVERY TIME we left the house. So he quit, well today he tells me that he's not smoking right now, but he will start smoking again eventually. He doesn't know if it will be a year, 5 years or 10 years. He just said whenever he feels like smoking again. I don't want him smoking, especially because we're going to have a child. His dad raised him to where anytime anything is wrong, you have a headache, anxiety, stubbed your toe, you were hungry, you smoke weed and it solves your problems. I do not want Violet growing up thinking that it's okay to smoke because her dad does, or smoke with her dad like my boyfriends did. I just don't know what to do. I just feel like everyday is me waiting for him to start smoking again.

If smoking is interfering with him being a provider then something has to give. He should stop until he can get his priorities in order. Once he's on the right track you shouldn't be worried about him smoking especially if it helps him stay calm. He can smoke away from the house and baby. Everyone needs something to help them stay level headed whether it be smoking, working out, reading, have a drink, etc.... everyone is different. He has to respects how you feel but you can compromise too not just demand he stop fully. A healthy relationship is about compromise and sacrifice. Good luck!
