Let's talk birth control; IUD or implant?
I suck at taking pills so that's a no, I'm not too sure about the ring since you have to take it out monthly, I don't want a patch on me, and I'm horrible about not going to doctor for myself so shot wouldn't be good. I do not want another child for at least 5 years so there's that too.
Edit: I cannot afford to gain weight (trying to get baby weight off and have had no success) and I would love to not have a period

I've had both and I love love love my iud! I've never had a period and no weight gain. Sometimes I'm a little moody but that's the only downfall. The implant though was terrible for me! I gained 30 pounds within the 3 years of having it. I had 2 periods a month, sometimes with no break in between. I was always so moody and in general just felt terrible all the time.

@gabbyrury0816 I'm a moody person in general so it would be like nothing has changed lol. I keep hearing good things about the IUD.

Yes the iud is great, I know there is a lot of horror stories out there but I know a lot of people, including myself who have nothing but good things to say about it

@gabbyrury0816 Yeah and I feel like anytime you're inserting anything not natural in your body there's always a chance of something going wrong

The implant was horrible for me. I had nonstop bleeding for a year, gained a ton of weight, and the cramping was awful. It moved and I had to have it surgically taken out. I ended up with muscle damage and didn't have full range of motion in my right arm for a while.
I have the ring now and it's honestly the best birth control I've ever tried. It's super easy to remove and insert, I've lost weight on it, periods only last about 4 days, and you can't feel it at all. I was super skeptical at first, but it's great.

@scurlock.mommy I have child hands (seriously my 8 year old niece's hands are almost the size of mine) so I'm just not sure about the inserting myself thing. Plus I heard about one woman was having sex and it came off onto her husband's penis 😬

@ravens_mommy I have baby hands too lol 😂 It's not difficult! As long as it's fully inserted, you're fine. We've never had an issue with it during sex, but you can take it out for up to an hour at a time if you'd rather take it out. It wasn't my first choice by any means, but after the horror I had with the implant I wasn't getting anything else like that, and I got pregnant on the pill. I also like that I don't have to sit there and do it at the same exact time every single day. You just put it in, take it out after 3 weeks, and put a new one in a week later. My doctor also told me that if I'm ever going on vacation right before I'm supposed to take it out, I can keep it in a few days longer to delay my period, which is nice.

I like my Mirena. I have not gained weight. I spotted off and on for the first 4 months which sucked. But I'm not pregnant and that's a plus. ✔
