My son did that too and is the first of my babies to be so lazy. He lost a lot of weight and we had to see lactation twice a week for a month until he got his weight up

Try pumping and using a bottle to get the rest of your milk out so he gets extra calories. He may be a lazy eater but she also may be weak from being a lazy eater.

I do cheek massage moves to promote sucking and change his diaper and wake him up.

I also massaged from outer breast to nipple with a fist to help push milk out.

@dhamiphoenix it's not that he isn't getting enough, I think he just wants me to hold him. The first time he wakes up he'll eat for like 15-20 mins and fall asleep on me and then after that he'll eat for like 5 mins and fall asleep til I put him down then he'll wake up wanting me again. He's already gained almost 2 pounds and he's only 2 weeks old so I don't think it's that unless my milk just went down within a couple days

That's good to hear! My son went the opposite way with weight and it was rather scary. I'm glad your LO is gaining so well!

You are "life support" "bread and butter" and without you the instincts wired in your baby tell him he will die. Young babies like to be held because since they were forming they were with you. Pretty much he doesn't know any different and gets scared. T will get better in time. My boy is just over two months and he is finally laying in his rocker for a couple of hrs at a time after feeding, a little play time and then bed.

The new newborn stage is the hardest. It will get better I promise!

May try the side lying positing for nursing then pull away when he falls asleep. You might get a little more time without baby then.
