So part of potty training our puppy since ours is stubborn is we attach him to a leash. While he's doing the act of physical going potty outside we give him a treat and tell him good boy. If he doesn't go, once we go back in the house he stays attached to the leash and isn't allowed to have fun or play with our daughter. Basically he's in trouble like a timeout until he goes outside. Well my husband is doing that with him right now and our daughter is watching her dad very carefully because she thinks he's hurting her puppy. When he takes the puppy out she follows and bangs on the glass door and tells him no because it's raining and she doesn't want him to get wet. She's even tried taking the leash off of her puppy and is yelling/crying telling her dad no.
