Sorry if I'm being disrespectful that's not my intention at all I see that you're in California is it true that here servers get paid minimum wage? I'm from Texas and I was arguing with my brother in law how servers only get paid 2.13 but he said in California they get paid minimum wage I'm just curious

@p0790, @luceromommy, @lovefaithkindness, it really depends on the restaurant. I make $9.00 an hour / 25/30hours a week. My checks are about $200. I do know when I lived in Illinois I only got $3.80 an hour. Either way, definitely not living wage! Haha.

The other place jus me n hubby ate we spent $70 an tipped $12 an cleaned our mess, idk $300 i think id atleast give $50 at MINIMUM ppl are jus idiots then to cater to a bunch of babies grrr show some appreciation when u go out

@sixplusones, There is an app called "iTip" that's great! You type in the bill and then click "15%" "18%" "20%", or your own percent. And it does the math for you. It's great for someone like me who wants to always leave 18%-22%, but I'm terrible at math.

@bria, thanks girl! Yeah, it's rough sometimes, but the bad tippers are few and far between. And I figure by sometimes sharing that 15%-20% of the total bill is customary, then maybe if even one person will see and understand then it's worth sharing! Haha! So many people don't understand that is servers / bartenders tip out at the end of the night. So, If someone is leaving less than 15% then we are taking a HUGE hit to our pockets.

YES !!! They think we are making a regular wage and tips, not realizing we are making sometimes 1/4 minimum wage, and tipping out 15-20% of OUR money. It's crazy
