anybody ever had their toddler evaluated by a speech therapist?? my 2yr olds doctor wanted him to get evaluated for delayed speech.. he says words but not putting them together, and still just points and crys when he wants something... not sure what to expect during this home visit, and worried about how he will react

I take my client to monkey mouth in Hurst, which is a pediatric speech therapy facility and they are wonderful! Better to be safe than sorry! The sooner he gets help, the better. No worries mama!

@mommab4 i would do it, because he could have other problems. But dont worry mama itll be okay.

My daughter had at home speech therapy for months. At the evaulation they normally just do a few activities with your child that will help them know where he is at and where to go from there. My daughter enjoyed the visit and loved when Ms Jaimi would come over.

@kmharr3 thanks for the input. I'm worried he won't sit down with her, or interact with the lady coming.. he is very clingy to my husband and I, and really doesn't pay much mind to people he doesn't know

My daughter was like that too but she warmed up to her and you can help him with certain activities and interact with him so it isn't so scary
