My grandma runs one, been doing it since I was small..It isnt bad at all, I have worked in traditional settings and with her..

Benefits: More personal, more quality attention from caregiver (as there is not as many children), relationship between parents are better bc its more personable, could be less of a commute, baby could have long term friends

Minor Issues: education and safety really are at the discretion of each specific caregiver, food (I noticed at home food prep was waaay diff than trad. day cares), sometimes a smaller environment, licenses and insurance sometimes isnt up to date for private places..

Depending on the daycare, they can be pretty good. I used to work for one. It was family oriented.
