Alright, it is time to start disciplining the little boy. David is 16 months old. The last couple weeks, if he doesn't get what he wants, he has started hitting me (or whoever took him away from whatever he's not supposed to have). I hold his hand down from hitting and tell him no and he thinks me telling him no is funny.
What have you done when you've run into this?

Time out. I've never tried it with a 1 yr old so that probably tougher. But a 3 yr gets in line quick when they have to stare at a wall for 3 min. Make sure they tell you what they did wrong though and then come up with something else to do with their hands. Maybe make a song with things to do with your hands besides hitting

I was thinking time out, but just don't thing he is going to understand that at all. I just don't know how to get him to comprehend the fact that he is doing something wrong. But the hitting is driving me nuts. Maybe I'll try some sort of song....

Well he probably won't get it at first but that's what babies do. My son started hitting me recently, about the same age and they think it's hilarious. Just keep at it and one day he will get it. Sort of. Make sure he knows it hurts and he's being naughty.
