How to Night Wean a 9-Month-Old Who Wakes Every 3-4 Hours?

Have u tried putting like cereal in his night bottle? My mom did that with me ig and i slept through the night may be worth a try ?

My sons 19 months tomorrow and still doesn't sleep thru the night either, I asked his dr about it today and he said try and get him attached to a blanket or stuffed animal because he just wakes up because he wants comfort

My son is 8 months and still doesn't either. I won't give him a bottle unless he absolutely shows he wants it. But if he's just fussing I'll rock him back to sleep or just show him I'm there. I also started giving him a blanket to hold and he likes to hold it up to his cheek. That usually does it. But he only wakes up once. I give him some cereal mixed with fruit around 9, and his bottle around 930. All after a bath, lotion, and massage. He sometimes sleeps through the night but if anything he's only been waking up once since I started doing all three.

I'm currently doing this with my 6 month old going on a week already. She use to wake up twice a night for a bottle now she's just waking up once and I try playing with her hair to sooth her back to bed and not give a bottle. If she doesn't settle down I walk away and she'll eventually fall back

To sleep in minutes. I hate leaving my baby to cry it out but I needed to do this I have a toddler too so I need my sleep at night

I'm dealing with that right now and my son is 1. My son gets his last meal and milk at 8 and doesn't eat or drink again until 8-10 am depending on what time he wakes up. When I was breastfeeding I tried to stop night feeding but didn't get much results and ended up going back to feeding just so I could get some sleep. Even though he's weened now I still hit this issues with him constantly waking up throughout the night . They said kids will start to sleep through the night when they're ready .

Also try to up his oz for his night time bottle.

At this point your baby is wanting a bottle for comfort not cause he's hungry so adding cereal won't make a difference trust men I stuff my daughter all day and she'd still wake up. It's a comfort thing

I never really know what's wrong with him ... it'll be like 4 in the morning & I'll even show him a bottle just to see if he wants it & he spits his pacifier out so fast lmao .. it's just really taking a toll on our sleeping honestly ... I've never had this problem with my oldest son .. smh

Cereal in bottles is a choking hazard, and it also clogs the nipple. We did it with Isabelle and it honestly made zero difference to how much she slept. There's no nutritional value so it doesn't do much for them.

I knew nothing about night weaning until someone on here said something about it. By that time, my daughter was already sleeping through the night 😂 I would definitely try! Just cut one out at a time if he takes more than one, and try different ways of soothing him back to sleep. I wish I'd known about it bc getting 5-6 hours of broken sleep every single night was exhausting.

I started giving my son a cup of water instead of milk , because he will take. A few sips realize it isn't milk and put it down .

My youngest would not sleep through the night until he was almost two. We tried everything the internet suggested and then some. I ended up buying a futon mattress and just sleeping with him in his room every night so we all could get decent sleep. He kind of just clicked around 22 months old and started sleeping alone no problem. It was incredibly frustrating for sure.

Honestly I put a cup of water in my sons crib when he started to wake in the middle of the night and he would just grab the water when he needed it and never made a sound

@amaperalta03, I agree ... I feel so bad about that but I just be so sleepy ... I dose off while holding him putting him back to sleep ..

@xoxoalexusss, I know exactly how you feel mama. Thankfully I have help every now and then so I can sleep but is exhausting and gets to you after a while . Hang in there though it gets better lol eventually.
