My husband hates when people thank him for his service since he's prior military. Well he's on the phone with his college and a lady stopped mid sentence and said "I see your prior military and I want to stop and say thank you for putting your life on the line to protect the rest of us. Your a hero and I am truly grateful." My husband's response is "You don't have to thank me. I'm not of any means a hero." She went on to explain why he is and he looks at me and has this expression, like can this lady please just move past that I served lots of people serve I didn't die so I'm just like everyone else on this planet. I don't know why he doesn't just accept that people that know he served are going to thank him so he should just let them thank him. Every time this happens I have to give him this look like "just shut up and say your welcome or thank you already."
