Loving a veteran that deployed and came home changed is emotionally hard... he still needs the sense…

Loving a veteran that deployed and came home changed is emotionally hard... he still needs the sense of brotherhood so, what does he do? He Joins a 1% MC... he's always been my big biker. He's always been in some type of MC but, this new step up is literally the biggest strain on our relationship especially when it comes to family time and trust... I don't want any part of it but, I know he needs this feeling of belonging. This might be the thing that ends us. I've literally sworn off any participation and just stay away from anything that has to do with it weather it be parties, rides, or members coming to the house. It feels like they're taking my man from me. He keeps saying don't make him choose between the MC or our relationship because, I won't like the outcome... I absolutely HATE this. I don't like that lifestyle. This is not the guy I fell in love with but, I still love him.

Hopefully he notices that in your own way you're supporting him, and notices you want him home more. Pray. Give him time. Is there something he enjoys doing that you do too or you can try something new together?

That's tough. I come from a family of bikers and so is my husband but he thankfully hasn't joined a club. That's one of my biggest fears. I hope your hubby realizes the importance of family

I'm sorry to hear that and I can only imagine what you may be going through. Have you all considered going to counseling to discuss his change in interests and coping with them as a couple?

That's really a rough place to be! My uncle and father went into service, both came back changed... my father went one direction, my uncle another... they remained close, but my uncle always choose his biker buddies over his family, except where it came to his brother (my dad)... he ended up in prison, his second wife was 'his biker wife' they both lost custody of their 2 youngest children, his 2 oldest children from his first marriage, have nothing to do with him... he always chooses his 'gang' over them... even now that he's 65, had a stroke, has to walk with a cane, he sold his truck to modify his bike to a trike because he was not giving up 'the life'! 🙄😓 I love him because my dad loved him... but I do so from a distance... he put our family through SO much... and he just does not know how to live any other way! No one can make those choices for you! I would consider counseling for yourself, even if he won't go with you... if nothing else it will help you identify what you are willing to put up with, and what will be too much for you and your children! I pray you find direction and peace!

He is all for counseling. I have been hesitant about it which is weird cause usually in most couples it is the other way around. The brothers in the club for the most part don't bother me cause generally they are just old ass men with crazy ole' ladies and their own set of issues... after all we are all just people. A lot of my issues are the time away from family and the fear if the unknown. My DH isn't an idiot by any means despite doing his fair share of straight up dumb shit. He's never been in trouble and I would like to keep it that way. I know it is something he needs it just isnt the lifestyle I would choose. He is very different at home. He's a total dad and science geek. I myself am the furthest thing from a biker lady. He says I look down on them but, thats not the case at all. I just can't relate a lot of them would ride or die for their men and this club but, not I to me it seems ridiculous so I choose to stay far away from it. He goes to the parties, open houses and poker runs ETC and I end up staying home with kids because, these things are "mandatory" ... my thought is no dude... its a "choice" no one is holding a gun to your head. You could be spending the weekend with us but, they run your shit so... I get mad then we fight then shit starts hitting the fan. I am at my limit. If he leaves I would be heart broken but I am not going to chase him. @alexusrabida @kaylamoye1 @juliahorvath632016 @gherianeulysse @mc.squared @withlovedkj @dreamermom

Not all biker clubs r bad some of them are just a bunch of people sitting around shooting the shit and drinking. Have you every just thought about joining him one evening or weekend just to show him ur trying this for him and if u still don't like/ want anything to do with it at lest u trying u know... My granddaddy was a part of a BC and he loved it and my grandma hated it but once they divorced and then got back together she gave it a try and loved it a lot of there's was to raise money for needy children or to help vets out!! Just think about giving it a shot u never know u might meet some of the best people 🌻

Ps I dnt think u think all biker clubs are bad

@crystalashby86 no, I don't think all MCs are bad. I certainly don't hate them... I dont even think this one is "bad" its just all the time and issues that come with it... there's always drama. I used to participate quite a bit when he was in another club that was a support/family club but, quickly got very sick and tired of it... it just isn't for me. 1% clubs are NOT family clubs and come with their fair share of risk especially when it comes to feuds between clubs. If we didn't have kids. I probably wouldn't have such an issue but, we have babies and it feels like I am raising them alone already but, I would really hate that feeling become a reality due to club stuff.
