Who is working on weaning their baby off formula?
I started Monday. And she's taking to the whole milk really well. She's gets 8oz bottles and only her morning bottle has 2oz of whole milk mixed in with formula. You can try giving her sips of water. Should help her digest it a little smoother. It works with my daughter at least.
See, her pediatrician said she would only need 2% if she became constipated or the stool turned white. Plus WIC will only give her whole milk once she turns one. She's not constipated, but her stools have been hard lately. Any suggestions on how to soften them?
I stopped my daughters formula all at one time didn't hurt her stomach or mess up bowel movements at all. My dr. Said to only do 4oz of 2% milk at a time 14oz maximum a day. Every child is different though.
Girl! But I just started. She's been getting like 2 oz of regular milk maybe twice a day for the last two days. And now her stools are hard. I've been giving her juice and water. I'm tryna figure out how to soften them up, because I can tell she's having kind of a hard time going poo 😔
So I asked the nurse the other day about mixing with formula to make the transition easier, and she didn't exactly advise against it but suggested instead to give her less formula than usual and then start off with 2 oz of regular milk and start working toward larger amounts gradually. I've been giving her water and juice, though, to help with her stools getting hard, but I'm wondering if there's anything else I can try.
