I've had horrible knee pain for the past 2 months. I can't flex my knee to any degree without horrible pain upon extension. It starts in my kneecap and then shoots through my shin. I don't know what it is.
I've been trying to find a physical therapist, but everyone that takes my insurance needs a referral. I don't have a PCP and my insurance isn't working with me on getting one.
Do y'all think if I went to like a walk-in clinic, they might give me a referral? I'm desperate at this point and can't wait much longer.

Get a pcp, call your ins and tell them you need one now and then make an appt and they will do xrays first then send you to pt

@ilovemy2daughters Technically, I have a PCP already. But she's a pediatrician and she no longer lives in my state. I've called the insurance company three or four times to try and have them change it and gave them the name of the person I needed it changed to, but they just keep sending me insurance cards with the name of my old PCP. 😩😩 I even did it online and had no luck.

You just need to call again believe me I've worked with ins b4 and just call them and tell them what's going on about your pcp. Until they get it right. The more you put weight on your knee the worse it will get.
