Would anyone think it would be kinda weird if their boyfriend/fiance/husband (before marriage) said…

I don't think I would find it weird per say... I might have questions on why he would want one though...

@breedean.wayt, yes and no. No it's not strange at all if he has or makes more than 1,000,000.00 a year. Totally normal. Yes it's weird if he has a regular income and normal assets. I recommend taking a class on living will the second me and my then bf started thinking of marriage I took the class he wasn't able to attend. He knew my purpose of taking it. We been together 10 years married 3 I'm not wealthy or anything but I have my own home and several other assets and turns out in the state of Texas it will always be legally mine bc I purchased it before our marriage. Anything acquired or invested after marriage is joint except IRAs. Im almost positive we will we together for life. I do plan to sell my home before our son starts school and we will purchase a home together n the next 4 years but I have already been here 11. We put all of our money together now and share everything but have our own small money as well. I pay everything with his money except for large purchases then we pay from our savings. Also I may add in the booklet I get with ur marriage certificate when u apply it has a section of legal assets of who's is what etc

@beebaby it just recently came up because we were talking about going to the court house to get married because we both don't want a huge wedding..we been together for almost 7 years in September and we share everything, we have lived together since our first year anniversary...

@txyogagirl he makes between $50,000 and $60,000 a year depending on overtime, we both don't have hardly any expensive assets I mean he has 2 very large tv's and gaming systems but I don't really play games so I have no interest in those, i just thought it was weird because this was the first time hearing about it..

Yeah I agree. From the sounds of it, this came out of the blue. And idk what he would even put in a prenup with no assets.

I'm not sure either I mean maybe his car but he's giving me that car next year when we get it paid off and he starts to lease a new one..

My husband mentioned it but we never did it. To me prenup means you dont have faith in the relationship, and are not commited 100%. But thats just how i was raised and what i think.. to each their own

@breedean.wayt, no disrespect I'm only giving honest opinion but 60,000 is nothing to fight over especially with a family that's like nothing once I pay bills etc. as the other girl said the second u walk out the door the all loose value even cars they don't have much value unless it's like a classic car like model A or something along along those lines. Even if a person has 500,000 I still don't think that's even for a prenup just bc u can hardly even buy a nice home with that amount. I think it's very strange now that we know more details and as @laciemarie, said sounds like he isn't making forever plans I know that's hard to hear but better to hear now than later. I would seriously think of ur options. Even one home is not worth a prenup in my opinion he's going to have to pay the value of his tv to get the paper work 😂
