My boyfriend suffers from depression. He won't take his meds because he said he doesn't like what it does to him. I try to be understanding and supportive but its hard. Sometimes hell tell me he wants to kill himself and I'll cry and hell apologize to me and say he doesn't know why he said it. Idk what to do, were both emotionally sensitive because we could be having a baby. He's 20 and im 17. I feel so confused and alone. What do I do?

He could need different meds. Some work better than others. He needs to seek medical help to change up his meds to see if he can find a norm.

Exercising helps. I know it sounds weird but it works wonders for me when I get down and depressed

@sundinfam we talked about asking for different medication but he said he'd rather not be on any. Ik he needs them but its hard to get him to understand

@vella89 he's been trying to lose weight and he does exercise a lot. Mayne me and him should start going for runs together, thank you for all the helpful advice ladies! I appreciate it

@resaa_sanchezz, I have been there, not wanting to take a "pill" to be normal but sometimes it is needed. The most dangerous thing he can do is completely take himself off of them without consulting a Dr. It needs to be a slow tapering off of meds and not cold turkey. If he is having suicidal thoughts he really needs to get help for himself as frustrating as that is.

@sundinfam I understand, its just heart breaking to see him like this. I've told him about the needs for the medication, that maybe we can ask for a weaker dosage but he's stuck in his ways.
