Moms- what tactics have you tried to have baby fall back asleep by himself in the middle of the night? We're not into crying it out, he gets extremely upset and is inconsolable. Any other tips/tricks that worked for you? We're so tired and would like to not get up several times throughout the night for once. 😴

We sang and held my son until he fell back asleep. Now we put him to bed at 8:00 give him a sippy cup of water and sit in the room with the tv on (on mute) and a white noise Machine on. So if he wakes up at night he sees the light of the tv and just goes back to sleep

@mixtemulatto, hmm I've thought of that. We do use a sound machine that also plays a screen thingie I wonder if we leave it on all night if it'll lull him back to sleep

We co slept with all three of mine. When we transitioned when they were older we did a modified version of cry it out where we let them cry for a few minutes, stretching it each time. It worked for one, but the other one was not about that life. Fortunately my youngest just slept well on his own.

We did a modified version of the cry it out method as well. If my daughter was just grumbling a bit we would let her be but if she became very upset I would pick her up and help her calm down before putting her back in her crib. Also using the sound machine and having a set bedtime routine has helped tremendously for her to understand when it's bedtime.
