Has any other mom done a lotus birth? share with me your stories how did you keep the placenta taken care of? How long did it take for your babies umbilical cord to fall off? What did you learn from your research? How did you feel about the whole experience, did you have to fight the hospital to have it done and did you notice the good of doing the lotus birth.

Well I had an unassisted birth at home but before that when I was looking for a midwife I went to a birth center and I told them I wanted a lotus birth she told me they were down for it however the nurses from the hospital would strongly oppose then then she recommended homebirth. The actual part of taking care of the placenta is not so difficult. I stayed in bed the whole first week with the baby and the placenta in a special bowl nearby, my husband cleaned it and dressed it in herbs up until the 4th day it detached. Currently we still have it in the bowl wrapped in cloth preserved and waiting to be buried.
