The older I get, the more I cannot believe my "mother" didn't know how to cook. The only time I ever really had homemade meals was at the babysitters house. At my house, we had ramen, microwave dinners, or takeout. Every night. She tried to cook on occasion, but only if we were going somewhere and needed to bring a dish.

Now that I have a family of my own, I LOVE cooking. I love knowing that my boyfriend loves my food, and I love cutting things up so my daughter can try them. It just makes me happy. When my boyfriend and I cook together it makes it more fun. And honestly? It's much cheaper than takeout every night, or buying ramen in bulk and lean cuisines in bulk.

With the baby I don't get to cook the really intricate dinners that I used to, that had an hour of prep and required constant attention, but I cook them on the occasion that we don't have her for the night and it's like a special treat for us. Tonight I made ziti, which is pretty simple, but I still enjoyed it. I had to hold her the whole time, but I managed. I even cut some up really small and let it cool down so she could have a few bites. She LOVED it. 🙂🙂
