So yesterday I had my WIC appointment🙄 I always dread going in there...

My LO had measurements for 9 month appointment.

She says by 11 months I should transition him to whole milk. Everything I've read my pediatrician has told me not until after 1year and slowly.

She had me come in and recheck his measurements because last time she saw a spike in weight.

I should cut 6oz from him daily 30oz instead of 36oz because he's 19lbs at 9 months. I've seen growth charts and to my knowledge that's no where near overweight... these babies are still growing...

The scale is never accurate, always way more then at our pediatrician.

Not trying to offend anyone. But I'm seriously questioning how much knowledge the employees at WIC offices have‼ false info to first time mothers‼

I'm so upset, and will be calling the hotline.

I would trust your doctor, it is what they spent years in school for. I love my daughters doctor ( he use to be mine as a kid)

@raquely, yes I couldn't agree more!

My doctor has never said anything about my sons weight. I'm still so upset. He's a baby...not even a toddler!!!

Let them be kids. I feel so judged, and it's meant to assist us.

And my LO is on similac sensitive!!! I can't just switch him and not gradually do it.

Esp not at before 12 months.

They just don't want to pay for the formula.

And that's fine. I'll call they're hotline Monday and inform them. And I'll pay everything myself‼

I've been getting it from them no issue. But now...for some reason my 9 month old has a weight issue only feed him with sippy cup...need to give him whole milk at 11 months etc. absurd.

Yeaaa The WIC office told me one of my kids were over weight. I just take what they say and let it go out the other ear 😂. They say asking for shot records, after my two oldest I stop doing the shots bc of the effects it can cause, my oldest was effected by it. They just doing their job, you don't have to do what they say. Just take it in and let their bs go out the other ear 😂 @chavakirsch

My daughter was 17lbs at 6 months, and that was right in the middle. Completely average. I can guarantee you 19lbs at 9months is not overweight! Listen to his pediatrician and, more importantly, go with your gut instinct. If he's hungry, feed him. Don't let them tell you to cut back on how much you feed your child. That's ridoculous that they would even say that. He isn't even a year old. If babies are hungry, you feed them! You don't tell them, "Oh, sorry hun. You're fat so you can't eat this time." 😅😅 I got WIC while I was pregnant and I eventually just stopped going because I saw no need to have them check her milestones when she has a pediatrician. They also won't give out my daughter's formula even with a prescription from her doctor so it's pretty much pointless.
