Ok mamas I need help! It's been 11 years since I breast fed. I wasn't going to breast feed baby K but since he has Jundice the doctor said that breast feeding him would help. Today we had to get his blood done and let me tell you I was scared because I didn't want to have to bring my baby back to the hospital. But the doctors called and said his levels are going back up but they still need to see him again on Monday. So my question is... what is a good diet to be on when breast feeding? Or I should say what foods do I want to make sure I eat???

A normal, clean diet should be just fine. Clean eating means no added sugars, no processed foods, no high calorie drinks. A general list I like to follow is this:
-100% whole grains for breads and pasta
-oatmeal
-eggs
-lean, low fat meats(chicken, turkey, fish, lean red meats)
-fruits and veggies, fresh or frozen ( try to avoid canned)
-pasteurized dairy (optional if you don't like dairy, but no sliced or shredded cheeses. You should slice or shred your own)
-rice or quinoa
-beans and lentils
It's also good to keep taking prenatal vitamins while breastfeeding 😊 Hope this helps!

No spicy, gassy or caffeine...everything else is a go.
I find I have better milk eating high protein and whole grains like oatmeal. Coconut oil instead of butter.
