Got some yoga in while Karoline naps and a couple poses with her before she went down for her nap. For all you mommies suffering from PPD like myself, YOGA HELPS!! Even if you start out simple and small with your poses. So good for the soul. 💜🙌🏻

How does it help PPD?

@megsandbabes, it obviously is going to be different with every mama because each journey with PPD is different. But it helps me with mine because it's calming.

You can't do a lot of these yoga poses without centering your mind around your physical being. So it helps me get my mind off of the anxiety aspect of my depression. It also is a form of exercise which releases dopamine in your body which is the chemical that makes you happy. So that helps with PPD too. You don't have to get all crazy with acro yoga but even just a. Purple minutes of the simple poses really help. I was such a sceptic up until like two weeks ago once I gave it a try. It's good for your mind, body, and soul. But like I said everyone is different and everyone's PPD journey is different in it's own unique way

@megsandbabes, it's also SUPER fun to include your little one with your yoga, it's helped with my bonding with my daughter because our bodies have to be In sync almost in order to do a lot of the poses and it's helped me appreciate my daughter and her love for me a lot more. The way she looks at me when we do some poses is just the best 💜😍

I'm super intrigued I've struggled with PPD and depression so badly and I really would love to get some help. Do I have to go to a class though? Is there any way to do it inexpensively at home??

I feel you! This is my first child so I didn't even think I would have PPD and it me HARD once I had my daughter. But I haven't been to a class. I just practice in my house or outside. I have a couple gfs that love to do acro yoga so they've been teaching me some poses and I just do them on my own time when I can and of really really helps! I just look up some pictures and videos of poses to do and I give them a try! Just go on YouTube and I'm sure you could find some to do. Also maybe look in your local parks and rec, they might have some super cheap, if not free, classes and you can get a feel for why poses you like and then do them at home 💜 @megsandbabes

@megsandbabes, I also see a therapist regularly.. no shame in my game lol I'm on medication, see a therapist, and do yoga. It's all starting to help level myself again!
